Privacy Policy

Effective date: 11 October 2026 · Applies to the SMSRAVE Android app (Google Play and website editions) and smsrave.com.

SMSRAVE ("SMSRAVE", "we", "us") provides an Android application and the smsrave.com web platform that let you send, receive, forward and manage your own SMS/MMS and related data. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we share it and the choices and rights you have. If you do not agree with it, please do not use SMSRAVE.

1. Who we are & how to reach us

SMSRAVE is operated by [your registered legal entity name], Lagos, Nigeria. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@smsrave.com or use our contact form.

2. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address and (optionally) phone number, created when you register.
• SMS & MMS messages — the content, sender/recipient and timestamps of messages only when you turn on sync to your own SMSRAVE account, or when a forwarding/auto-reply/poll rule you create acts on a message. SMSRAVE is a messaging app and, with your permission, is set as your default SMS app so it can read, show, send, store and delete your conversations on the device.
• Contacts — names and numbers, only when you choose to back up or sync contacts, or use the contact picker.
• Call logs — number, type, time and duration of calls. This is collected only in the website-download ("full") edition of the app, only when you enable call-log sync, and is never collected by the Google Play edition (which does not request the call-log permission).
• Purchase information — your subscription plan, status and purchase history. Payments are processed by Google Play Billing (in-app) or Paystack (website); we do not receive or store your full card details.
• Device & advertising identifiers — an advertising ID and a per-install identifier, used for ads (free users) and licensing. Paid users on an active plan see no ads.
• Diagnostics — limited technical logs needed to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the core messaging features: showing, sending, receiving and syncing your messages, contacts, polls and call logs.
• To run the forwarding, extraction, auto-reply, poll and scheduled-message rules that you create.
• To manage your account, subscription and licensing.
• To show ads to users on the free plan (via Google AdMob).
• To secure the service, prevent abuse and comply with law.

4. Restricted-permission use (SMS, MMS and Call Log)

SMSRAVE's access to SMS/MMS and (full edition only) call-log permissions is used solely to provide the user-facing messaging features described above. We do not sell this data, and we do not use it for advertising. Message and call-log content leaves your device only through rules you create or sync you explicitly enable, and only to your own account or the destinations you configure. Our handling of these permissions complies with the Google Play Permissions and User Data policies, including the limited-use requirements.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• With service providers that run the platform on our behalf — our hosting provider, and payment processors (Google Play, Paystack).
• With Google, the advertising identifier only, to show ads to free users (via AdMob).
• At your direction — to the email addresses, webhooks, numbers or gateways you configure in your own forwarding/sender rules.
• For legal reasons — where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

We never share your SMS/MMS content, contacts or call logs for advertising or with data brokers.

6. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account (see §9) we delete your synced messages, contacts, call logs, polls, senders and rules. We may retain limited billing records where required for accounting, tax or legal compliance.

7. Security

smsrave.com is served over HTTPS and data is encrypted in transit. Stored credentials you provide for your own senders (for example SMTP or gateway secrets) are encrypted at rest on the device. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

8. Children

SMSRAVE is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your rights & deleting your data

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. You may delete your account and all associated data yourself at any time from Dashboard → Settings → Delete account, or by following our Account & Data Deletion instructions. Depending on your location you may also have rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and, where applicable, the GDPR. To exercise any right, email privacy@smsrave.com.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the effective date above.
